Williams Selyem, founded by Burt Williams and Ed Selyem, became one of the Russian River Valley's most influential wineries, prized for single-vineyard bottlings with a devoted mailing-list following. The Bacigalupi Vineyard is a storied Russian River site; the family's Chardonnay went into the Chateau Montelena wine that triumphed at the 1976 Paris Tasting. Its Zinfandel shows the warmer side of the appellation in a balanced, Pinot-minded style. The 2020 harvest was small and demanding in Sonoma, with careful selection needed amid the wildfire season.
